Respiration Equipment Reached Disaster Area of Sichuan Province

The massive earthquake occurred in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province on May 12 was of great concern to all subsidiaries of Air Liquide in China. Right after the disaster, Air Liquide China and Air Liquide Hangzhou donated RMB 2.4 million,to the earthquake victims, among them, RMB 600,000 coming from employees. Air Liquide Healthcare decided to donate respiratory equipments and disinfectants valued at RMB 1.2 million.

On June 6, 2008, 10 units of OSIRIS respiratory equipment donated by Taema, a subsidiary of Air Liquide Healthcare, reached Chengdu. With help of Ms. Shi Lang, deputy chief of the Health Department of Sichuan Province, Thomas Wen, Taema National Manager, and Felix Liu, Taema Seninor Product Specialist, completed all relevant formalities for the equipment donation. Later, the group conducted a product training to staffs from the recipient hospitals. They are all from the severely-hit areas, including the People's Hospital of Wenchuan County, the People's Hospital of Lixian County, the People's Hospital of Maoxian County, the People's Hospital of Xiaojin County and the Emergency Center of Guangyuan City. On behalf of Health Department of Suchan Province, Ms. Shi Lang expressed her sincere thanks for Air Liquide's generous support.

Taema, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air Liquide Healthcare, specializes in manufacturing respiratory and anaesthesia equipments. Taema opened its representative office in Beijing in 2001 to promote its products in China.

Talking about the donation, Mr. Thierry Veller, Vice-President of Asia Pacific Air Liquide Healthcare said, "We hope the equipment donated by Taema can play an active role in the relief work, and the injured will soon recover.”
