Led by Mr. Remi Charachon, President & CEO of Air Liquide China, employees of Air Liquide China participated in the tree planting activity in Shanghai on the day of national Tree Planting Day, which officially kicked off Green Action, the company's annual program dedicating to environment protection. This year's Green Action will continuously see larger scale and influence - 21 cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Wuhan, and more than 400 employee volunteers will participate. Being held for 4 consecutive years, Green Action has already become a branded program of Air Liquide China.

The Green Action of Air Liquide China includes a series of environment protective initiatives such as Earth Hour, World Earth Day and Air Liquide Green Life, in addition to employee's voluntary tree planting activity, aiming at strengthening the environmental awareness and promoting the low-carbon lifestyle among employees, customers, suppliers and communities. This year, Air Liquide specially involves its business partners to Green Action to promote the green concepts.

As the world leader in gases for industry, health and the environment, Air Liquide is committed to combining long-term performance with environmental protection and social responsibility. The industrial gases and innovative technologies of Air Liquide, such as hydrogen energy, oxy-combustion and removal of sulfur from fuels can help industrial customers improve energy efficiency and reduce pollution emission. Meanwhile, Air Liquide puts efficiency improvement and energy saving in the first place throughout its daily operations, minimizing the impact to environment through continued improved energy efficiencies at its production units.

Environment is also a widely concerned issue nowadays in China. During this year's NPC and CPPCC session, air quality has drawn unprecedented attentions, while the monitoring of PM2.5 has been for the first time written into the 2012 Government Working Report.  "Air is essential for our lives,"  Mr. Remi Charachon, President and CEO of Air Liquide China, commented.  "Air Liquide has always been the promoter and practitioner of environmental protection and sustainable development. Whilst continuously innovating for highly energy efficient technologies, in particular, through our Engineering Centers in China and environment friendly solutions, we also actively drive green activities. And through concrete actions in China, we are making our endeavors to build a greener future at our customers and in the communities where our facilities are located."
