Electronics: new contract in China on advanced flat panel display technology

  • China

Air Liquide recently signed a long-term contract in China with Tianma Micro-electronics Group to supply ultra-high purity carrier gases to their new cutting-edge flat panel display plant in Wuhan, Hubei Province.

According to the contract, Air Liquide will invest in a set of Teisan Compact Nitrogen (TCN) equipment. Expected to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2017, the TCN will produce 12,500 NM3/h of ultra-high purity nitrogen. Besides, Air Liquide will provide the customer with other ultra-high purity bulk gases including oxygen, argon, hydrogen, helium and carbon dioxide.

Air Liquide has been supplying Tianma Micro-electronics Group with bulk gases regarding two ongoing projects in the customer's plants in Wuhan and Chengdu since 2009 and 2010 respectively. The new contract is related to the customer"s latest investment in its 6th generation of LTPS (low temperature poly-silicon) flat panel display production project in Wuhan, which adopts the advanced AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) technology.

Founded in 1983, Tianma Micro-electronics Group is specialized in the design, manufacturing, and supply of high-quality Flat Panel Display products. It is a leading small-to-medium sized flat panel display provider in China.

Yan Jinping, Chief Operating Officer, Air Liquide China, commented:"We're honored to be awarded this new contract. This cooperation strengthens our leading position in the fast-growing flat panel display industry in Wuhan as well as in China."

Ma Jun, Vice President of Tianma Micro-electronics Group, added: "With this new investment, we expect to demonstrate our technological capability in the flat panel display industry in China. We're confident in achieving our objectives with the cooperation from our long-term partner Air Liquide."
