Air Liquide holds groundbreaking ceremony of a new manufacturing facility in China

On March 13, Air Liquide held a groundbreaking ceremony of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Yantai Penglai, Shandong province in China. Following an agreement with Shandong Yantai Municipal government, Air Liquide Engineering and Construction will start building this new facility for the manufacturing of mainly air gas separation and hydrogen production, providing energy efficient and sustainable supply for customers.  
 
CRYOLOR, an Air Liquide subsidiary, will also be co-located at the same facility and will manufacture high performance ISO containers, trailers, and tanks for the Chinese, Japanese and Asian hydrogen mobility markets and will offer an expertise center for its customers. 
 
The new manufacturing site in Shandong will be fully operational by July 2022. Existing manufacturing site in Hangzhou, China will remain operational until 2023, to ensure the smooth transition to this new manufacturing site.  
 
Air Liquide has maintained great relations with Shandong Province since the establishment of a medical oxygen filling plant in Qingdao in 1995. As of now, Air Liquide has invested and operates six Air Separation Units in Qingdao, Rizhao and Dongying, and has also constructed mini-pipelines to deliver nitrogen and hydrogen in the region. Today, Air Liquide serves many large scale chemical and energy companies with its innovative technologies and sustainable solutions in the Shandong province and broader China.
