Air Liquide China announced a donation of RMB 500,000 yuan to support the reforestation of the Giant Panda Habitat in Yingjing County, Ya’an City, Sichuan Province. For this habitat restoration program 15,000 broad-leaved trees will be planted, aiming to improve the local forest ecological environment for the naturalized giant pandas and other wild animals, which is in line with the Group’s new commitments to biodiversity.
On May 26, 2023, Air Liquide donated RMB 500,000 to a new partnership with SEE Foundation to plant 15,000 broad-leaved trees including maples and birches that will cover an area of 250 mu (around 167,000 square meters) around the Daxiangling Giant Panda Naturalisation base in Sichuan Ya‘an Giant Panda National Park. The trees will be planted in one year and preserved for two years to reach a certain survival rate, which enables air purification, water and soil conservation, as well as absorbing CO2 of 4000 tonnes over 30 years.
This is the third time that Air Liquide China joins hands with SEE Foundation, following the plantation of 100,000 Saxaul trees in Alxa, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2021 and the waterfowl habitat protection at the Shanghai Chongming Dongtan National Nature Reserve. It’s also part of the company’s “Green Action”, an annual tree-planting campaign launched in 2009 to enhance employees’ awareness of environment protection.
