  • China

At the beginning of the new autumn semester, Air Liquide China donated 30 recycled computers and other IT equipment to Xilin Primary School in Yichun, Heilongjiang Province, where it operates its northmost plant in China, Yichun Plant with the largest Air Seperation Unit (ASU) in Heilongjiang province. Air Liquide China has a long-term partnership with Xilin Steel Group, the largest iron and steel maker as well as the biggest private enterprise in the province, and provides it industrial gases and reliable services.

Xilin Primary School is the fourth school that Air Liquide China has supported to establish "Air Liquide Computer Classroom" , for which the company has donated its internal computers and renewed them in an environment-friendly manner through its partner Netspring. This program has been rolled out respectively at two schools in Hefei in 2012 and one in Maoming in 2013. It aims to help students acquire computer knowledge and skills to adapt to this information era and broaden their horizon. Furthermore, volunteers from Air Liquide China will visit the school regularly to coach students on science, safety, environmental protection and other subjects.

Corporate Social Responsibility is one of the core values of Air Liquide to be fulfilled in daily practices. The company is committed to engaging in the development of local economies, protecting life and the environment, and contributing to communities. It promotes a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, namely, "Air Liquide Care" , including "Air Liquide Computer Classroom" , "Green Action" , etc. in China.

"We are pleased to help our future generation to broaden their knowledge and grow happily. Air Liquide will continue to leverage the company' s resources and encourage employees'  participation to fulfill commitments to local communities,"  commented Mr. Remi Charachon, President and CEO of Air Liquide China. "I would also take this opportunity to express my sincere sympathy to those who have been affected by the recent flood in Yichun and in the province. Air Liquide China will contribute to the recovery by a special donation.”
