SCIPIG awarded long-term gas supply contract by SECCO
- China
Air Liquide China, through its subsidiary Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Industrial Gases Company (SCIPIG), was recently awarded a 15-year industrial gases supply contract from Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Co., Ltd (SECCO).
Under the contract, SCIPIG will supply large volumes of pure oxygen to SECCO in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) for its Sulfuric Acid Regeneration (SAR) Unit, which will increase the capacity of the SAR Unit and at the same time significantly reduce emissions and improve its overall production efficiency.
SCIPIG will construct a new air separation unit (ASU) with a capacity of 900 tons per day of oxygen, together with an integrated liquefier, and extend its pipeline network in SCIP, so as to meet the new industrial gas requirements of SECCO and other customers. The new ASU is expected to be on-stream in January 2015.
This major achievement further strengthens SCIPIG’s supply capability and presence in SCIP, thereby enhancing the services offered in the leading world class chemical industry park.
SCIPIG is a 50-50 joint venture between Air Liquide and Praxair Inc. It has been a partner of Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP) since its creation in 2001. SCPIG has a production capacity of over 200,000 cubic meters per hour of various industrial gases, and ranks as one of the largest industrial gas production bases in China and Asia. Today SCIPIG provides a complete range of products including nitrogen, oxygen, compressed air, carbon monoxide, hydrogen and steam to its customers.
Marcelo Fioranelli, President & CEO of Air Liquide China: "This contract signifies a new stage of SCIPIG's development in the dynamic Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. We will continuously provide reliable operations and value-added services to SECCO and other customers in SCIP."
