Air Liquide announced the signature of four new gas supply agreements with leading electronics customers located in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, both key high-tech industrial hubs in China. With a total investment of over 800 million RMB, Air Liquide will build, own, and operate four world-class production units. These advanced plants will provide ultra-pure nitrogen to support the manufacturing of logic chips, semiconductor equipment, and advanced outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) solutions.
The four new nitrogen production units, projected to become operational between late 2027 and early 2028, will deliver a combined capacity of over 100,000 Nm3/hour. Through these long-term supply agreements, Air Liquide will deliver the high-purity nitrogen critical to creating ultra-clean manufacturing environments, while ensuring maximum reliability, operational performance, and energy efficiency for its customers.
These agreements represent an expansion of Air Liquide's supply infrastructure within the electronics sector in China, further embedding its operations directly into China’s most prominent semiconductor manufacturing basins. This expansion builds upon Air Liquide's deep-rooted expertise in China's electronics industry, where the company has provided high-purity gases and specialty materials for decades.
Rui COELHO, CEO of Air Liquide China, said:
The four new contracts clearly show the strong trust our customers place in Air Liquide. They confirm our essential role in helping them accelerate their growth in the semiconductor market. With China becoming a leader in Semiconductor, AI, EV and Robotics, Air Liquide is dedicated to supporting this high-tech industry with the most advanced solutions. We look forward to helping our partners grow their businesses in a sustainable way, while contributing to China's long-term technological dynamism and sustainability.
