  • China

On the eve of Children's Day 2019, Air Liquide China donated 51 recycled computers to Nanjiaochang Primary School, located in Fuxian County of Yan'an, Shaanxi Province. This is the seventh computer classroom that the company has supported to establish in China since 2012.

In order to help students in rural areas to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary in a digital era, Air Liquide China refurbishes its computers and donates them to schools in need. During the past years, the company has built "Air Liquide Computer Classrooms" in Hefei, Maoming, Yichun, Datong, Chengdu and now in Yan'an.

Employee volunteers from Air Liquide China's local sites would visit the students and share knowledge on science, safety, environmental protection and other topics. In Yan'an Air Liquide China owns and operates two ASUs, each with a capacity of 1,400 tonnes of oxygen per day, to supply industrial gas products to the customer Yan’an Energy and Chemical Co.

Air Liquide China President & CEO Marcelo Fioranelli commented, "We feel privileged to contribute to improving the learning environment for kids in rural areas. These computers will help them to connect more with the fast-changing world and expand their horizons."

Zhang Yanhua, Headmaster of Nanjiaochang Primary School, said, "In this information era, we increasingly feel the need to provide IT education to our students. Air Liquide really helps us out with this computer classroom, for which the whole school is thankful."

Responsibility lies at the heart of Air Liquide. It is devoted to developing local economies, protecting life and the environment, and to contributing to communities. Under "Air Liquide Care", a Corporate Sustainability Program (CSP), Air Liquide China carries out initiatives including "Air Liquide Computer Classroom", "Marathon First Responder Program", "Green Action" annual tree-planting event, and "Safety Lectures for Kids".
